remember, back in october, when I showed you some swatches of the new black gloss collection polishes? there was a red one here and 2 purples here.

I think, they relaunched it now! I found a new display at dm, and there were 2 new shades. remember when I complained, that one of the shades, black khaki, was not available in austria? now it is! and there was yet another new shade!

I really had great nails lately. good shape, good condition, no stains. just great. but all of a sudden they started chipping, breaking and getting stained again! and I’m not sure, why. I guess I have to blame one or another polish for staining, but I don’t know which :-S and I think the nails are that weak because the last mm of fake nail underground are growing out now. and the manicurist really buffed these areas very heavily. and I’m sad to say, that I think the square shape is not ideal for my nails, because the edges just kept breaking one after one.

today it’s not only the 2nd advent sunday, it’s also “nikolo”, which is a kind of santa clause tradition here in austria. st. nikolaus (santa) and “krampus” (santa’s little helper) come to visit the kids and give them nikolosackerl (bags with candy, fruits and nuts)  if they were bad, they get a birching and get a bag of coals ;-) actually krampus has his own special day on dec. 5.this is a very long tradition, esp. in the rural communities, called “perchtenlauf”.  perchten and krampus are not exactly the same, if you are interested in the tradition, take a peek at wikipedia, it’s a little complicated to explain in 2 sentences…

my todays manicure has a vintage touch, I used 2 coats of illamasqua hectic over black, a matte top coat and china glaze the ten man. I stamped with P16 and konad silver.

I’ve been offline for 2 days now, I upgraded from vista to win7, and it was a mess! why can those things never work out like they are supposed to? I was so frustrated that I decided to apply a template instead of a background *lol*

anyways, I did some layering yesterday, something I had in mind since I got the wizards.

here’s what I used:

as I commented in the wizard review, I think dorothy who? looks better layered on something dark blue. I used 1 coat of china glaze calypso blue as a base. then I applied 1 coat of dorothy and over this 1 coat of nfu.oh 52, which is iridescent blue-green flakes in a sheer purple base.

and that’s what it looks like: I love it! what do you think?

yesterday I found a new nivea display called diamond collection, with 3 autumnally shades of polish. one was a berry pink, one was a darker nude/beige and one was a reddish brown. that was the one I chose, because I already have polishes very similar to the others, and 10€ (15$) for one bottle of drugstorepolish is not exactly cheap, right?

erste neuigkeit: ich habe nach langem überlegen entschieden, die deutschen einträge wegzulassen. es tut mir zwar leid, weil ich immer einen deutschsprachigen blog schreiben wollte, aber es ist einfach zu zeitaufwändig, alles doppelt zu schreiben. und da doch der großteil der leser nicht deutsch spricht, habe ich diesen weg nun gewählt. ich hoffe, ihr seid mir nicht böse und könnt es nachvollziehen. kommentare werde ich natürlich weiterhin deutsch beantworten, und vl wird auch hin und wieder ein deutscher beitrag folgen, man wird sehen ;-)

heute trage ich caribbean blue, ein hellblau mit kleinen glass flecks, und darüber auf anfrage ein stamping mit h24 und weiss. topcoat ist fairy dust von china glaze, leider nicht so gut zu sehen, auf dem verschwommenen foto erkennt man es etwas besser, das blau entspricht aber dem auf dem oberen foto.
today I'm wearing caribbean blue, a light blue with small glass flecks. on request I stamped with h24 and white. as topcoat I used fairy dust from china glaze, you can see the glitter in the blurry pic, the blue is like in the first pic.

dieser lack kam 2007 heraus. trotzdem passt er perfekt in diese saison. er ist grün & er ist metallic.
this polish was released in 2007. nevertheless it's the perfect fit for this season. it's green & it's metallic.

outta bounds ist ein mittelgrüner metalliclack mit zusätzlichem ausgeprägtem schimmer. ich kann mich nicht entscheiden, ob er blau- oder gelbstichig ist. mal sieht er so aus, mal so. ich denke, das macht die farbe zum perfekten grünton.
der lack ist sehr gut deckend, die applikation war problemlos, fast keine pinselstriche zu sehen, wie es sonst bei metalliclacken passieren kann.
is a middlegreen metallic shade with an additional distinct shimmer. I can't decide whether it's blue or yellow toned. I guess that's what makes a perfect green.
the polish is very opaque, application was smooth, almost no brushstrokes.

hatte heute irgendwie lust, das marmorieren nochmal zu probieren, und diesmal hats auch viel besser geklappt. beim nächsten mal werde ich davon fotos machen und meine tricks posten ;-)

eine mitarbeiterin von china glaze war so freundlich, mir ein paar lacke zum testen und swatchen zuzuschicken. dies ist einer davon:
china glaze was kind enough to send me some polishes for swatching purposes. this is one of them:

für mich ist das das perfekte marineblau! ein wunderschönes dunkles cremeblau, das ich in den letzten tagen schon für 2 maniküren verwendet habe, und das hat schon etwas zu bedeuten. allerdings: nach dem entfernen sind meine nägel immer noch leicht bläulich, es sieht aus, als würde ich frieren oder hätte zu wenig sauerstoff im blut... man braucht also eine extraschicht basecoat!

die applikation war toll, sehr cremig und gut deckend!

to me this is the perfect navy blue! a gorgeous deep blue creme, which I used for 2 manicures the last days. and that's special! but: after removal my nails still look blueish, it looks like I'm freezing... so you need an extra coat of basecoat!

application was great, the polish is very creamy and opaque.

pünktlich zur halloweenzeit werden jede menge "gruseliger" nagellacke auf den markt geworfen. auf diesen bin ich besonders stolz, da er nur in einem bestimmten geschäft in usa erhältlich ist. und auf ebay...
just in time for halloween, a lot of "spooky" polishes are thrown onto the market. I'm especially proud of this, because it's hard to get outside usa. only on ebay...

emerald sparkle ist eine grüne glitterexplosion in einer dunkelgrünen, fast schwarzen jelly base. irl ist der glitter etwas bläulicher, das letzte foto entspricht am ehesten der echten farbe. der lack lässt sich gut auftragen, hier habe ich 2 coats verwendet. topcoat ist zwar nicht nötig, da die oberfläche sehr glatt ist, aber er lässt den lack noch mehr glänzen.

is a green glitterexplosion in a dark green, almost black jelly base. irl the glitter is a bit more blueish, the last pic is the best considering the true color. application was good, I used 2 coats. you don't need a topcoat, because the surface is really smooth, but it brings the glitter more to life.

ich habe noch einmal die serviettentechnik versucht. eigentl. sind die motive zu groß für die nägel, man erkennt keine kürbisse, aber es sieht trotzdem herbstlich aus, wie ich finde. anleitung zur serviettentechnik findet ihr hier.
once more I tried the napkin decoupage. the pumkins are to big for the nails, but I think it still looks autumnally. you can find the instructions here.

diese nailarttechnik habe ich das erste mal auf chinda-chans blog gesehen. man benötigt die oberste schicht einer serviette oder eines taschentuch mit kleinem muster, eine schere, basecoat, neutralen lack und topcoat, evt. glitterlack und eine nagelfeile. Ich habe ein klimt-design gewählt.
I saw this nailart technique on chinda-chans blog for the first time. for this you need the top ply of a napkin or tissue, scissors, basecoat, a neutral polish and a topcoat, glitterpolish if you want and a nail file. I chose a klimt design.


zuerst schneidet man kleine stücke aus der serviette und passt diese den nägeln an. ganz ehrlich, das hat ziemlich lange gedauert und ist auch nicht ganz perfekt geworden.
to start with cut the napkin into small pieces and adjust the shape to the shape of your nailbeds. to be honest, this took a long time and didn't turn out perfectly.

apply topcoat, let dry and file the edge to make it smooth. after the first coat I applied a coat of gold sparkle and used fast drying tc. make sure you cover the whole nail with tc, else the napkin may come off during washing your hands. you can remove the whole thing with nailpolish remover.

als ich neulich beim müller shoppen war, ist mir ein ständer mit diesen nailartschablonen ins auge gesprungen. es gibt 44 verschiedene klebeschablonen der firma trendliner cosmetics , einzelmotive sowie ganznagelmotive.
some days ago I found these nailart-stencils at müller's. they are self-adhesive and there are 44 different designs.

die anwendung ist denkbar einfach: nagellack auftragen, topcoat auftragen und gut (!) durchtrocknen lassen. schablone von der trägerfolie lösen und auf dem nagel platzieren, gut andrücken (va da, wo man den 2. lack aufträgt) und das motiv mit einem anderen lack bepinseln. antrocknen lassen und vor dem vollständigen trocknen schablone vorsichtig wieder abziehen. anschließend wieder topcoat auftragen, fertig! verteile gegenüber dem stampen sind, dass man jeden lack seiner wahl verwenden kann, und dass sich das motiv wirklich gezielt auftragen lässt. nachteil ist, dass die schablonen nur 1x verwendbar sind und der spaß dadurch wesentlich teurer ist. (preis habe ich leider nicht im kopf, aber ich denke, er liegt knapp unter 2€ pro bogen)

the application is very simple: apply some polish and topcoat and let dry. take the stencil and place it onto your nail, press gently. now apply a different polish and let dry, but take off the stencil before it's completely dry. apply topcoat and you're done. compaired to stamping the pros are that you can use every polish you want to and that you can place the motive exact. the con is that you can use the stencil only once which makes this method much more expensive. (it's about 2€/sheet)

ich habe mir gedacht, dass sich diese methode gut für matt/glänzend designs eignet, da ich es bisher nicht geschafft habe, diesen effekt durch stamping zu erhalten. das ergebnis war ok, aber die ränder nicht ganz sauber, da man diese normalerweise durch den überlack ausgleicht.

I thought this might be great for matte/shiny designs which can not be reached by stamping. the outcome was ok but the edges were uneven because you usually even them out with topcoat.
