we’re actually staying at home tonight, there’s nothing much to do with a 1 year old. but I don’t mind at all, I love having a yummy dinner and watching the new year’s eve tv programm! traditionally we eat fondue or raclette, drink champagne and watch “dinner for one” right before midnight. then we open the window and watch the fireworks. I just hope my baby can sleep and will not wake up from all the noise outside.

today it’s not only the 2nd advent sunday, it’s also “nikolo”, which is a kind of santa clause tradition here in austria. st. nikolaus (santa) and “krampus” (santa’s little helper) come to visit the kids and give them nikolosackerl (bags with candy, fruits and nuts)  if they were bad, they get a birching and get a bag of coals ;-) actually krampus has his own special day on dec. 5.this is a very long tradition, esp. in the rural communities, called “perchtenlauf”.  perchten and krampus are not exactly the same, if you are interested in the tradition, take a peek at wikipedia, it’s a little complicated to explain in 2 sentences…

my todays manicure has a vintage touch, I used 2 coats of illamasqua hectic over black, a matte top coat and china glaze the ten man. I stamped with P16 and konad silver.

hatte mal wieder lust auf stamping. eigentlich wollte ich etwas ganz anderes machen, irgendwas mit spitze, aber beim durchsehen der platten bin ich bei dieser hängen geblieben. ich finde, es hat etwas von chinesischem porzellan. habe versucht, 2-färbig zu stampen. das ergebnis hätte besser sein können, sieht aber trotzdem ganz nett aus, oder?
I felt like doing some stamping yesterday. actually I wanted to do something totally differend, some kind of lace stamping. but when I went through my plates I ended up with this one. I think it looks like chinese china. I tried stamping with 2 colors at the same time, could have turned out nicer, but I still like it.

muse ist ein mittleres petrol, eher grünstichig. er hätte sich gut auftragen lassen, wäre nicht der pinsel total schief zugeschnitten... o_O

is a medium teal, more green than blue. it would have been good in application, if it wasn't for the brush, which was cut totally skew o_O

milf ist ein staubiges lindgrün. es ist total 50er jahre. ich denke an mintgrüne petticoats und vespas. und in den 60ern gab es das lilien-porzellan in genau diesem grün. um so genialer finde ich den namen milf -mom I'd like to fuck -^o^-
is a dusty pastel green. it's totally 50ies. I'm thinking of mintgreen petticoats and vespas. and in the 60ies there was this lilien-porcelain in the exact same color. that's why I think the name is so ingenious: milf - mom I'd like to fuck -^o^-

hectic ist das perfekte olivgrün oder auch khaki. ein gelbstichiges, staubiges mittelgrün. sehr cool! es ist genau so, wie ich mir dry martini von mac gewünscht hätte.

is the perfect olive green or khaki. it's a dusty medium green with yellow tint. very cool! it's exactly how I had expected dry martini by mac.


die konsistenz der beiden lacke war sehr unterschiedlich. hectic ist etwas dünner und nicht so hoch pigmentiert, aber sehr angenehm aufzutragen. milf hingegen ist eher dick und klebrig, ich hatte schwierigkeiten, den lack gleichmässig auf den nagel zu bekommen.

the formula on these was differing. hectic was thinner and less pigmented, but very good to apply. milf was thick and sticky, I had troubles with a smooth application.

heute kam die sonne raus! und da ich die dystopias noch drauf hatte, habe ich sie gleich abgeknipst! die mani ist 3 tage alt, immer noch perfekt (allerdings habe ich sie dann abgemacht, um die sonne auch für andere lacke zu nutzen ^^)
today, the sun came out! I was still wearing the dystopias, so I rushed to make some pics! the mani is 3 days old, still looks perfect (nevertheless I took it off to swatch some more polishes in sunlight ^^)

wie ihr (vl) wisst, war ich beim illamasqua nailart contest eine der 3 gewinnerinnen. es hat etwas gedauert, aber endlich habe ich meine gewonnenen lacke bekommen und 2 davon möchte ich euch heute zeigen. diese beiden farben sind teil der neuen dystopia kollektion.
as you (may) know I was one of the 3 winners of the illamasqua nailart contest. finally I got my prize and today I'm gonna show you 2 of the polishes. these are part of the new dystopia collection.

velocity (geschwindigkeit?) ist ein gräuliches dunkles lila mit höherem rotanteil. die farbe ähnelt parlez-vous opi, ist aber rötlicher. es gibt derzeit einige dieser gräulichen lilas, mir gefallen sie allesamt sehr gut, so auch dieser!
is a grayish deep lilac with high red pigment content. it's very close to parlez-vous opi, but more reddish. there are a lot of these greyish lilacs, and I like them all.

obsess (heimsuchung?) ist pink. sehr pink. das ist der pinkeste lack, den ich besitze. nein, der pinkeste lack, den ich je gesehen habe. wenn jemand mich fragen würde, was pink ist, würde ich diesen lack herzeigen. doch dann, gestern beim zähneputzen, im spiegel, auf einmal violett. nur ein bisschen, aber eindeutig blaustichig.

is pink. very pink. it's the pinkest polish I got. no, it's the pinkest polish I've ever seen. if someone'd ask me, what pink is, I'd show this polish. but then, yesterday when brushing teeth, in the mirror it suddenly looked purple. just a little, but clearly a blue tint.

diese lacke sind großartig. geschmeidig, hoch pigmentiert, leicht aufzutragen, gute (aber schmale) pinsel. sie halten grandios, ich habe heute hühnersuppe (mit echtem huhn und gemüse ^^) gekocht und der lack hat keinen schaden genommen. ich bin total begeistert und freue mich schon darauf, die anderen 3 lacke zu testen. (ich wünschte, ich hätte euch sonnenfotos zeigen können, aber seit gestern ist es nur bewölkt.)

those polishes are great. sleek, highly pigmented, easy to apply, good (but slender) brush. they are resisting, I cooked chickensoup (with real chicken and veggies) today and there is no chipping at all. I'm totally thrilled and looking forward to swatching the other shades I got! (I wish I could have shown you sunlight pics, but it's been overcast since yesterday.)
