originally I wanted to make a real camouflage look stamping, but none of my stampingplates had the right design. so I came up with this military modification:

we’re actually staying at home tonight, there’s nothing much to do with a 1 year old. but I don’t mind at all, I love having a yummy dinner and watching the new year’s eve tv programm! traditionally we eat fondue or raclette, drink champagne and watch “dinner for one” right before midnight. then we open the window and watch the fireworks. I just hope my baby can sleep and will not wake up from all the noise outside.

yesterday it was snowing all day long! I love winter, and I love snow! but I hate it, when it turns into mud the minute it hits the ground. and in big cities like vienna this happens very quickly.

we went christmas-shopping yesterday, which is kind of suicidal on the last saturday before christmas, because the whole town is doing the same. add some slippery roads and annoyed drivers and you get what we got *lol*

nevertheless I enjoyed the christmassy weather and I decided to do a snowy manicure with some rhinestones and one of my favorite polishes.

this polish is part of the current essence le all I want. there are 3 other shades, pinks and purples, nothing special to me. but I decided to go for this red, because I don’t have many reds, mostly darker and vampy shades. the picture looks a bit odd, because I had to adjust the color in photoshop, but now it’s rather color true. I guess, reds are even worse to take pictures of than purples.

I tried to create a candy cane looking water marbling nailart, with white, red and green stripes. it didn’t turn out as I had expected, but I think it’s cute. I also added some stampings in between. but I guess, I will have to do another candy cane nailart before christmas, just to satisfy myself ^^

yesterday it was the first sunday in advent-time. in austria (and other european countries) the 4 sundays before christmas are called advent sundays and are celebrated by lighting candles on an advent wreath, decorated with evergreens and bows. it’s like the countdown to christmas. I don’t know, if the four weeks before christmas are celebrated like this in other countries.
well, this year I didn’t tie a wreath, mostly because my daughter would break it within 10 minutes and burn her little fingers on the candles. but I did a special manicure.
I found a napkin just perfect for holiday nailart, it has these very small images which fit perfectly on the nail. and it’s much easier to apply just a small piece of napkin instead of covering the whole nail.
 
I applied 2 coats of alessandro 295, which is a cool-toned gold, and 1 coat of 297, which is a cool gold glitter. for this manicure I chose the holly designs and applied them by using the napkin decoupage technique. on the middle finger I stuck on the 3d artpieces I created with the mold I got at nailart und mehr.
 
 
 

I love the look of the 3d artpieces, but I have to admit that it’s not for everyday use. but if you are going to a christmasparty it’s the perfect nailart ;-)

the reason why I’m not posting so many posts lately is that my dad is in hospital. he had a surgery and got a hip prothesis. the problem is, that he is suffering from dementia and someone has to go there every day to look after him, as the nurses aren’t very dedicated. so I’m there quite often. but he’s coming home soon.

hatte mal wieder lust auf stamping. eigentlich wollte ich etwas ganz anderes machen, irgendwas mit spitze, aber beim durchsehen der platten bin ich bei dieser hängen geblieben. ich finde, es hat etwas von chinesischem porzellan. habe versucht, 2-färbig zu stampen. das ergebnis hätte besser sein können, sieht aber trotzdem ganz nett aus, oder?
I felt like doing some stamping yesterday. actually I wanted to do something totally differend, some kind of lace stamping. but when I went through my plates I ended up with this one. I think it looks like chinese china. I tried stamping with 2 colors at the same time, could have turned out nicer, but I still like it.

gestern habe ich die 3D form getestet, die ich vor einigen tagen gekauft habe. man benötigt eine form, uv gel, uv lampe und einen schaber oder acrylpulver und lösung oder fimo und einen ofen. ich habe die gel variante getestet.
yesterday I testet the 3D mold I bought a few days ago. you will need a mold, uv gel, an uv lamp and a scraper or acrylic powder and solution or fimo and an oven. I tried the gel version.

diese form läuft unter der bezeichnung weihnachtsstern, aber ich finde, es sieht aus wie ilex-blätter. this mold is called x-mas flower, but I think it looks like holly leaves.

los gehts, es ist wirklich einfach!

und so sieht das ganze auf dem nagel aus, ich werde zu weihnachten sicher die eine oder andere mani damit machen!

hatte heute irgendwie lust, das marmorieren nochmal zu probieren, und diesmal hats auch viel besser geklappt. beim nächsten mal werde ich davon fotos machen und meine tricks posten ;-)

bei nailjuice findet ein nailart contest zum thema nautical (maritim) statt. ein tolles thema, zu dem ich einige ideen hatte. letztendlich habe ich mich für die water marbling technik entschieden. es war mein erster (und wahrscheinlich letzter o_O) versuch, und nach zig fehlversuchen bin ich mit dem ergebnis recht zufrieden.
nailjuice is having a nautical nailart contest. I think this theme is great and I had a lot of ideas. in the end I chose the water marbling technique, it was my first (and probably last o_O) attempt, and after a lot of failed attempts I think it turned out pretty gorgeous.


als farben habe ich blau (china glaze calypso blue) und weiss gewählt, die typischen marinefarben. das muster soll an wellen erinnern. das rote herz steht für die geliebte, die ein jeder matrose in einem hafen zurücklässt. und die steinchen sollen das glitzern der sonne auf der wasseroberfläche darstellen.
I chose blue (china glaze calypso blue) and white, the typical navy colors. the design is showing waves, the red heart symbolizes the love each sailor leaves behind. and the rhinestones are supposed to be the glittering sun on the water surface.

heute feiert meine tochter den 1. geburtstag, und ich habe ein spezielle maniküre nur für sie gemacht ^^
