I tried to create a candy cane looking water marbling nailart, with white, red and green stripes. it didn’t turn out as I had expected, but I think it’s cute. I also added some stampings in between. but I guess, I will have to do another candy cane nailart before christmas, just to satisfy myself ^^

als erstes muss man sagen: das war als dupe gemeint! denn blauen microglitter, silbernen glitter und pink-grün changierende flakes in eine violetten base zu mischen passiert nicht rein zufällig. soweit sind wir uns einig, oder? also: was den glitter betrifft, kann man hier von dupe sprechen. (bzw. hat alessandro eiskalt den opi weihnachtsbestseller geklaut! edit: ok, vl ist geklaut zu harsch, sagen wir, er hat ihnen seeeehr gefallen ;-) )
first of all I have to say: this was supposed to be a dupe! blue microglitter, silver glitter and pink-green iridescent flakes in a purple base doesn't just happen. so we agree: concerning the glittermix we can call this a dupe (or: alessandro stole opis holiday bestseller! edit: ok, maybe stolen is to harsh, let's say they liked it very very much ;-) )

juhu, ich habe es geschafft, halbwegs gute fotos zu machen. dh meine kamera hat es geschafft. aber sie ist an ihre grenzen gestossen.
die heurige weihnachtskollektion umfasst 12 farben, sehr viele (für meinen geschmack zu viele) rottöne, violett, braun, gold. für mich waren diesmal nur 2 dabei, was aber mein budget schont ^^
hurray I finally managed to take good pictures of these. well, my camera did. but it reached it's limits!
this years holidaycollection includes 12 shades, many (for my taste too many) reds, purples, browns, golds. only 2 for me this time.

merry midnight ist ein transparentes violett mit silbernem microglitter, blauem glitter und rot-golden duochromen flakes (auf dem 2. bild gut zu erkennen). sieht sehr interessant aus, und sehr schön. zum vergrößern anklicken.

is a sheer purple with silver microglitter, blue glitter and red-gold duochrome flakes (which you can see on the bottom pic). very interesting to look at, beautiful polish. klick to enlarge.

smitten with mittens - (hingerissen von fäustlingen. interessanter name-total unpassend, oder?) kühles kirschrot mit massenhaft rotem glitter. in der flasche ist auch goldener glitter zu erkennen, aber der verschwindet auf dem nagel. das obere bild ist zeigt die farbe, die die kamera eingefangen hat, das untere kommt dem original aber näher. es ist mir jedoch unerklärlich, warum die nägel unscharf aussehen. obwohl ich kein rotfan bin, gefällt mir dieser lack ebenfalls sehr gut.

(interesting name-but totally inappropriate, I think) is a cool cherry red with tons of red glitter. there's some golden glitter in the bottle aswell, but it doesn't appear on the nail. the top picture is how the camera saw it, the bottom shows the color more accurately. it's unexplainable to me why the polish looks blurry. although I'm not a red-fan I like the color, too.

beide lacke ließen sich gut auftragen, dank prowide brush. smitten with mittens hat recht gut gedeckt, 2 coats reichen hier völlig. merry midnight hingegen benötigt mind. 3 coats, oder aber eine passende base, wie violett oder schwarz. sonst gibt es eigentlich nicht viel zu den lacken zu sagen ^^

both polishes applied nicely, thank's to prowide brush. smitten with mittens was pretty opaque with 2 coats, merry midnight needs at least 3 coats or a matching base, like purple or black. nothing else to say ^^

heute sind meine weihnachts-opis angekommen. jedoch, ich konnte kein einziges gutes, farbechtes foto schiessen, also zeige ich euch, was ich heute vormittag angelegt habe:

ein beige schimmernder nude ton aus der south beach collection fs 09. dies ist eine echte sommerfarbe, sie sieht wirklich nach sand aus. das auftragen war etwas schwierig, da der lack streifig wurde, die konsistenz war ok. ich trage diesen lack zum ersten mal, da nude lacke meiner meinung nach eine farbverschwendung sind, falls ihr wisst, was ich meine. aber er hat mir wirklich gefallen... bis zu dem zeitpunkt, als ich draufgestampt habe. das war mit abstand das hässlichste, was ich je fabriziert habe! ich habe keine fotos gemacht, dh ihr müsst euch verschmierte, fleckige türkise ringe vorstellen ;-)

this is a beige shimmering nude shade from the south beach collection ss 09. this is a true sommer color, it really looks like sand. application was a bit difficult, because the polish appears streaky. the formula was ok. it's the first time I put this on, because to me nude shades seem like such a waste of color, if you know what I mean. but I really liked it... until I put a stamping on it, that is. this stamping was the ugliest thing I've ever done, didn't make any pictures, so you have to imagine smeared, stained teal rings ;-)

einen teil der herbst opis habe ich euch schon gezeigt, jetzt sind noch 2 dazugekommen:
I already showed you two of the fall opis, but I got two more, and here they are:

suzi skis in the pyrenees: ein fast schwarzes rauchblau mit schimmer. 3 coats. auf dem letzten foto mit essie matte about you. diese farbe ist sehr elegant.

an almost black smoky blue with shimmer. 3 coats. essie matte about you on the last pic. a very sophisticated color.

here today... aragon tomorrow: ein fast schwarzes tannengrün mit schimmer. 2 coats. eine wunderschöne herbstfarbe.

an almost black fir green with shimmer. 2 coats. a beautiful fall-color.

die konsistenz beider lacke ist sehr wässrig. es erinnert ein bisschen an aquarell-farben, fast durchsichtig mit grieseligen farbpartikeln. 2 coats sind fast zu wenig, mit 3 ist es aber dann gut. der pinsel ist wie immer schön breit.

the formula on both is very watery, it reminds me of water colors. you need 3 coats for an opaque finish. I like the wide brush.

den schimmereffekt muss man schon suchen. ich dachte anfangs, dass es cremefarben sind, bis ich sonnenfotos gemacht habe. ich dachte mir, wo kommt denn auf einmal der schimmer her, bin ich irgendwo versehentlich angekommen? aber da er dann auch in der flasche war, musste es wohl so sein.^^ der effekt ist aber wirklich nur in direkter beleuchtung erkennbar.

the shimmer effect is really hard to find. I thought it were cremes until I took sunlightpics. the shimmer was a surprise and I thought, I touched something shimmering by accident. but the effect only appears in direct lighting.

als ich neulich beim müller shoppen war, ist mir ein ständer mit diesen nailartschablonen ins auge gesprungen. es gibt 44 verschiedene klebeschablonen der firma trendliner cosmetics , einzelmotive sowie ganznagelmotive.
some days ago I found these nailart-stencils at müller's. they are self-adhesive and there are 44 different designs.

die anwendung ist denkbar einfach: nagellack auftragen, topcoat auftragen und gut (!) durchtrocknen lassen. schablone von der trägerfolie lösen und auf dem nagel platzieren, gut andrücken (va da, wo man den 2. lack aufträgt) und das motiv mit einem anderen lack bepinseln. antrocknen lassen und vor dem vollständigen trocknen schablone vorsichtig wieder abziehen. anschließend wieder topcoat auftragen, fertig! verteile gegenüber dem stampen sind, dass man jeden lack seiner wahl verwenden kann, und dass sich das motiv wirklich gezielt auftragen lässt. nachteil ist, dass die schablonen nur 1x verwendbar sind und der spaß dadurch wesentlich teurer ist. (preis habe ich leider nicht im kopf, aber ich denke, er liegt knapp unter 2€ pro bogen)

the application is very simple: apply some polish and topcoat and let dry. take the stencil and place it onto your nail, press gently. now apply a different polish and let dry, but take off the stencil before it's completely dry. apply topcoat and you're done. compaired to stamping the pros are that you can use every polish you want to and that you can place the motive exact. the con is that you can use the stencil only once which makes this method much more expensive. (it's about 2€/sheet)

ich habe mir gedacht, dass sich diese methode gut für matt/glänzend designs eignet, da ich es bisher nicht geschafft habe, diesen effekt durch stamping zu erhalten. das ergebnis war ok, aber die ränder nicht ganz sauber, da man diese normalerweise durch den überlack ausgleicht.

I thought this might be great for matte/shiny designs which can not be reached by stamping. the outcome was ok but the edges were uneven because you usually even them out with topcoat.

there's a nailart contest on the illamasqua blog and I decided to enter with 3 different designs.

about me:

being a mum for almost one year now, there's not been much time and space for being much else lately. changing diapers, spoon-feeding babyfood and trying to keep your clothes clean. being a housewife is not that fun you might think, at least there's room for my little nail-art-hobby.

I love fantasybooks, I love magic and sometimes I wish I could just cast a spell to make things work out the way I want them to. (the holographic effect was hard to capture, it was much brighter irl)

und was soll ich sagen!? diese lacke sind 100% ident. ich finde es wirklich erstaunlich, dass 2 verschiedene firmen zur gleichen zeit wirklich komplett idente lacke herausbringt! ich an deren stelle würde mir überlegen, ob es nicht einen maulwurf in der firma gibt. ich meine, es kann schon mal sein, dass sich lacke ähneln, wenn es sich um eine modefarbe handelt. aber bitte, seht euch das an! da ist nicht mal ein hauch eines unterschieds! nada! wenn ich mich entscheiden muss, und das werde ich, dann würde ich misa nehmen, einfach weil ich ein echter fan bin, und weil dieser lack mit 1 coat perfekt deckt!
and what can I say?! these polishes are exact dupes! isn't it astounding that two different brands are launching the same color at the same time? I mean, even if it's a fashion shade, it's never EXACT the same! well, if I had to make a choice (which I did) I'd choose misa because I'm a fan and because this is perfect with only 1 coat.

ich konnte die schwarze holoversion dieses lackes auftreiben und ich liebe ihn! ich liiiiiebe ihn!!! der ist um welten besser als revvvolution. woah, der glitzert und holot, geil! über die deckkraft kann ich nichts sagen, da ich einen coat schwarz verwendet habe, und darüber 2 coats mpj. der lack ist sehr dünnflüssig, aber lässt sich mit dem breiten pinsel hervorragend auftragen. und habe ich schon erwähnt, dass ich ihn liebe?! (vl gibts morgen sonnenfotos)

finally I got the black holoversion of my private jet and I love it! I looooove it!! it's amazing and much more beautiful than revvvolution. the polish is very thin but it applied great with the prowide brush. I used 1 coat black polish and 2 coats mpj. did I mention, that I love it?! (sunlightpics maybe tomorrow)
